Compared with the mainline Beta, the Beta AR is aimed at being Arc's 'All Round" option that's suited to more serious adventures. Where the Alpha SV meant for harsh alpine conditions, the Beta AR is built lighter and more wearable. It's still very much capable, with the DropHood™ designed to fit a helmet for anyone that plans on actually using this for alpine exploration. The GORE-TEX PRO shell increases the waterproof and windproof properties over the standard versions whilst GORE C-NIT™ backing stops you at even the slightest movement.
For safety when in the wilderness, the jacket features an in-built RECCO® reflector which helps rescue crews find you lest the worst case scenario happen. You probably won't need that whilst you're sipping a coffee in light drizzle though...
